Participants will learn how they can be a leader in their TAFE Chapter and will focus on developing the skills needed to be successful. Activites will include river rafting on the Colorado and other challenging activities.
Those interested in registering their members should e-mail Alejandro Arguello at aarguello@tassp.org. Please include in your e-mail how many tafe members you plan on bringing to the Workshop for Future Educators. Please include the number of boys and girls in your group.

Directions: McKinney Roughs is located on Hwy 71 13.2 miles east of Austin-Bergstrom International Airport on the westbound side. The facility's entrance is 8.4 miles west of Bastrop.

Summer Camp at McKinney Roughs is such an amazing opportunity where members and their sponsors from all over the state of Texas are given the chance to come together and interact with each other and strive towards the same goal- Learn how to work together to run an effective TAFE chapter. From the roomy dormitories that have the refreshing scent of pine, to the beautifully furnished dining hall that offers savoring food that make your taste buds dance, McKinney Roughs is the perfect location to accommodate our summer camp. Upon arriving to the camp ground you are taken back by the beauty of the area. Bordered by the Colorado River and filled with copious amount of greenery, it’s simply nature at its best. You are sure to have an enjoyable experience. Each new day at camp is a new challenge. From morning to evening it is filled with fun group activities, water events, and leadership activities that draw your chapter closer together. You also get a chance to make friends with members from across the state. You'll leave this camp not only with fresh ideas, but with a better understanding of what it means to be an educator. Friendships are created, lessons are learned, and memories are born.
